Updating amateur radio license
Applications filed at QRZ are sent directly to the W5YI-VEC where they are reviewed by specially trained and authorized staff before being input directly into the FCC's system.Your update is effective immediately upon its appearance on the FCC website.The FCC has decided to go totally electronic so you will not receive a license copy in the mail from the FCC.To obtain a copy of your renewed license, please visit the FCC site App/Uls Search/search Club station licenses may be renewed here electronically ONLY IF there are no changes to the existing FCC license record.Here is the link that describes how to update your FCC information. id=amateur&job=cft&page=cft_change_address I do mine on the website and I have not been charged for it.Within a few weeks a new copy of your license with the new address will arrive in the mail.Revocation of your station license or suspension of your operator license may result when correspondence from the FCC is returned as undeliverable because you failed to provide the correct mailing address.
To change the address or other contact information on your license, you must update your information in ULS or submit Form 605 manually.
Otherwise, a transfer of control or license assignment application needs to be filed.

Applications will appear either the next business day in ULS Application Search or two businesses days later for applications filed on a weekend or federal holiday.
The General Class license is the second of three US Amateur Radio licenses.
To upgrade to General Class, you must already hold a Technician Class license (or have recently passed the Technician license exam).
